This building was designed by Samuel D. Kelley and built for Chadwick, Stillings in 1889.

In 1930 this house was rented for $35 a month by Marland Sewall, a 54-year old interior decorator from New Hampshire. Marland lived with John Nrutsgin, a 19-year old lodger from Maine who worked as a telephone operator.
