Below are definitions and photographic illustrations of architectural term beginning with the letter "V".
| Valley - An intersection of sloping roof segments towards which rainwater flows. |
| Venetian Door - A doorway that takes the same form as a Palladian window. |
| Venetian Terrazzo - A terrazo floor made from mostly large marble chips, with small chips filling the gaps inbetween. |
| Veranda - A large, open porch enclosed by a roof and a railing extending along an entire side of a house. |
| Vermiculite - Long, twisty strands of mica made by exposing base mica to extreme heat. Often used as a light-weight aggregate or as an insulating material. |
| Vertical Siding - Siding made from laying boards vertically rather than horizontally. |
| Vestibule - A small entrance hall between a building's door and the main house. |
| Vinyl Sheet - A flexible floor covering made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a felt or foam backing. |
| Vinyl Tile - A thin, flexible floor tile made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a self-adhesive foam backing. |
| Vision Light - A small window at the top of a door. |
| Voussoir - One of the semi-circular wedge-shaped components of an arch. |
