Below are definitions and photographic illustrations of architectural term beginning with the letter "M".
| Mansard Roof - A hip roof that has each side divided into two parts: a steep lower part and a shallow upper part. |
| Metal Pan - An acoustical tile made from a perforated aluminum or steel panel backed with a layer of sound-absorbing material. |
| Mission Tile - Semi-cylindrical roofing tiles that alternate concave and convex sides facing up. |
| Monitor - A raised structure that straddles a roof ridge that uses windows or louvers to provide light and ventilation for a building. |
| Mosaic - A decorative pattern or picture created by laying small colored pieces of tile or glass in a bed of mortar or other adhesive. |
| Mosaic Tile - Small, decorative ceramic tile. Modern mosaic tile is usually mounted on a rubber or grout sheet to make installation faster and easier. |
| Mullion - A vertical divider between panels or panes of glass. |
| Mural - A picture painted directory onto a ceiling or wall surface. |
