The 1924 City Directory lists Harry VanTassel, an ice man, as a resident of 539 Washington.

The 1925 City Directory lists Peter Sawlit, a laborer; and Peter Yuskaitis, a shoemaker, as residents of 539 Washington. Frank Buck, a shipper; Steveus Buck, a machinist; John Heffernan, a police officer; Neil McDonald, a watchman; and Emma Small, the widow of William Small, are listed as residents of 541 Washington.

The 1930 Census lists part of 539 Washington as rented for $36 a month by Stephen Buck, a 50-year old railroad mechanic from Lithuania. Stephen lived with his 43-year old Lithuanian wife Josephine; 21-year old daughter Stephanie, a worker in a candy factory; 20-year old daughter Elizabeth, a worker in a candy factory; 15-year old son Charles; 8-year old daughter Alice; 24-year old brother-in-law John Nagle, a mechanic's helper for a street railway; and John Nagle's 2-year old son John. Another part of 539 Washington was rented for $33 a month by John Campbell, a 23-year old taxi driver from Canada. John lived with his 24-year old wife Florence and their two sons: 1-year old David and infant John. Another part of 539 Washington was rented for $32 a month by Stephen Faherty, a 29-year old street railway employee from Ireland. Stephen lived with his 30-year old Irish wife Mary and their two sons: 2-year old Walter and infant Stephen. Part of 541 Washington was rented for $31 a month by Thomas Winn, a 32-year old coal laborer from Ireland. Thomas lived with his 30-year old Irish wife Catherine; 4-year old son Thomas Jr; infant son Francis; and two boarders: 30-year old Martin Lundy, a foundry laborer; and 26-year old John Canney, a foundry laborer. Another part of this house was rented for $33 a month by Michael Kennedy, a 29-year old laborer from Ireland who worked as a laborer for a gas company. Michael lived with his 28-year old Irish wife Mary and 21-year old brother-in-law Maurice O'Connor, a laborer for a grocery company. Another part of 541 Washington was rented for $32 a month by William Egan, a 30-year old contracting foreman from Ireland. William lived with his 26-year old Irish wife Mary.
