This three-story brick multi-family house was built in 1900. A renovation was performed in 1998. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows John Weingartner as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows James Desmond as the owner of this house. In 1930 part of this house was rented for $58 a month by Jason Whitney, a 47-year old service station manager from Vermont. Jason lived in 38 Turner with his 47-year old wife Anna and his 83-year old mother-in-law Catherine Wiemer (born in Germany). 40 Turner was rented for $47 a month by Ciriacos Houboulis, a 43-year old candy store employee from Greece. Ciriacos lived with his 29-year old Turkish wife Gladys and their two children: 7-year old Frank and 5-year old Margery. |
