This three-story multi-family house was built in 1915. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows Daniel Ryan as the owner of this house. The 1925 City Directory lists James Brennan, a janitor; John Brennan, a lawyer; Patrick Kelley, a motorman; Mary Martin, the widow of Louis Martin; and William McSharry, a Boston police officer, as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows J.E. Brennan as the owner of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by James Brennan, a 70-year old from Ireland. James lived with his 58-year old Irish wife Celia and their three children: 30-year old daughter Catherine, a stenographer for a candy factory; 28-year old John, a lawyer; and 26-year old Jennie. Part of this house was rented for $42 a month by Herman Winslow, a 49-year old barber from Maine. Herman lived with his 36-year old wife Elizabeth. Another part of this house was rented for $40 a month by George Stavropoulos, a 33-year old meat salesman from Greece. George lived with his 21-year old Greek wife Athena; 65-year old mother-in-law Pauline Kiros (born in Greece); and 6-year old niece Pauline Kiros. The building was valued at $16,000. |
