This brick multi-family house was built around 1925 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Thomas Connolly et al as the owners of the empty lot where this house was built. In 1930 this house was owned by Daniel MacLean, a 32-year old accountant. Daniel lived in 11 Rose Garden with his 31-year old wife Agnes and their three children: 7-year old Evelyn, 5-year old Daniel Junior, and 4-year old John. 9 Rose Garden was rented for $75 a month by Jack Penn, a 32-year old dentist. Jack lived with his 24-year old wife Rina and their 3-year old son Frederick. The building was valued at $12,000. |
