This brick multi-family house was built in 1915 and rises three stories to an asphalt roof. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows Cornelius Casey as the owner of this house. The 1925 City Directory lists Abbie Casey, the widow of Cornelius Casey; and Robert Huke, a brass rulemaker, as residents of 73 Perthshire. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows the heirs of Cornelius Casey as the owners of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by James Harbison, a 38-year old claims adjuster. James lived in 73 Perthshire with his 34-year old wife Helen and their two children: 9-year old James Junior and 6-year old Caroline. Frederick O'Brien, a 24-year old boarder from Vermont who worked as an electrical supplies salesman, also lived here. 71 Perthshire was rented for $40 a month by Edward Bell, a 35-year old aluminum salesman. Edward lived with his 34-year old wife Esther and their two children: 7-year old Frank and 2-year old Jane. The building was valued at $12,000. |
