In 1930 part of this house was rented for $45 a month by John Corkery, a 31-year old milkman. John lived with his 26-year old Portuguese wife Emily and their 1-year old son John Junior. Another part of this house was rented for $50 a month by Daniel McPherson, a 30-year old from Canada who worked as a foreman for a milk company. Daniel lived with his 22-year old wife Canadian wife Annie; 3-year old son Earl; 3-year old son Donald; 62-year old Canadian father-in-law Colin Johnson, an apartment building janitor; and 16-year old Canadian sister-in-law Christina.
