This brick multi-family house was built in 1920 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows M.W. Palmer as the owner of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Michael Wynne, a 61-year old from Ireland who worked as a manager for a rubber company. Michael lived with his 50-year old Irish wife Elizabeth and their three children: 26-year old Alexander, a hotel employee; 24-year old Margaret, a telephone operator; and 22-year old Elizabeth, a telephone operator. Part of this house was rented for $50 a month by Catherine Whalen, a 38-year old public school teacher from New Hampshire. Catherine lived with her 36-year old sister Anna, a private nurse; and 40-year old sister Mary Thoone. The building was valued at $12,000. |
