This brick multi-family house was built in 1920 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. The 1925 City Directory lists Ida Andrews, an attendant; Charles Lawson, a carpenter; and Sophie Nyberg, owner of the Summerland Hair Dressing Parlor, as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows H.T. Lawson as the owner of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Benny Cavallaio, a 35-year old meat market manager from Italy. Benny lived with his 9-year old daughter Agnes. Part of this house was rented for $60 a month by Joseph Izigethy, a 37-year old from New York who worked as an assistant manager for a meter company. Joseph lived with his 36-year old wife Amy (born in New York); their 9-year old daughter Catherine; and his 76-year old mother-in-law Catherine Shulze (born in Germany). The building was valued at $10,000. |
