63 Oakland Street

This multi-family house was built around 1925 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows M.W. Palmer as the owner of this house.

In 1930 part of this house was rented for $55 a month by Joseph McCafferty, a 32-year old civil engineer who worked for the electric company. Joseph lived with his 30-year old Canadian wife Hazel; infant daughter Eleanor; and 2-year old nephew Arthur. Another part of this house was rented for $46 a month by Peter Dunn, a 47-year old fire department lieutenant. Peter lived with his 43-year old wife Mary and their two children: 14-year old Joseph and 12-year old Mary.
