This multi-family house was built in 1923 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. The 1925 City Directory lists William Carson, a machinist; Ralph Rogers, a restaurant worker; and James Stewart, a plasterer, as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows J.D. and A.B. Stewart as the owners of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by James Stewart, a 78-year old from Scotland. James lived with his 70-year old Scottish wife Annie and their 15-year old adopted son William McLeod. Part of this house was rented for $25 a month by Ralph Rogers, a 38-year old restaurant cook. Ralph lived with his 38-year old English wife Elizabeth and their two children: 18-year old Gladys and 13-year old Robert. The building was valued at $5,000. |
