This brick multi-family house was built in 1930 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Lewis and Anna Lenkner as the owners of the empty lot this house was built on.

In 1930 part of this house was rented for $50 a month by John Sullivan, a 49-year old from Ireland who worked as a fireman for a water works. John lived in 48 Oakland with his 47-year old Irish wife Abby and their five children: 23-year old Mary, a stenographer for a steam shovel company; 19-year old John, a truck driver; 17-year old James, a clerk in a grocery store; 15-year old Elizabeth; and 10-year old Mildren. 50 Oakland was rented for $50 a month by Hollis Blumenthal, a 26-year old clothing salesman. Hollis lived with his 26-year old wife Mary (born in New York).
