25 Oakland Street

This multi-family house was built in 1840 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. A renovation was performed in 1996.

The 1925 City Directory lists Thomas Mayne, a manager; and Robert Moore, an auto mechanic, as residents of this house.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows T. and M. Wayne as the owners of this house.

In 1930 part of this house was rented for $25 a month by Thomas Seymour, a 50-year old from England who worked as an electrician for Edison Electric. Thomas lived with his 36-year old wife Kathleen and their two daughters: 17-year old Ruth and 15-year old Helen. Another part of this house was rented for $25 a month by Robert Moore, a 34-year old automobile mechanic from Pennsylvania. Robert lived with his 34-year old wife Elizabeth and their five children: 8-year old Robert, 6-year old Allan, 5-year old John, 3-year old Philip, and infant Mary.
