This three-story multi-family house was built in 1910 and renovated in 1999. The 1925 City Directory lists John Flaherty, a yardman; Lorenzo Marchese, a barber; and Matthew Mullen, an investigator, as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows L. and R. Marcheue as the owners of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Laurence Marchese, a 53-year old barber from Italy. Laurence lived with his 46-year old wife Rose (born in New York); 24-year old son Vincent, an assembler in an automobile factory; 17-year old son Frank; 20-year old daughter Rose, a worker for a rubber company; 27-year old daughter Mary Ledome, a factory worker; and 5-year old granddaughter Florence Ledome. Part of this house was rented for $47 a month by Catherine Flaherty, a 65-year old widow. Catherine lived with her 79-year old widowed sister Julia Burke. Another part of this house was rented for $53 a month by Colin McDougall, a 72-year old carpenter from Canada. Colin lived with his two daughters: 36-year old Sarah and 38-year old Elizabeth, a clerk for an insurance company. The building was valued at $10,000. |
