This three-story multi-family house was built in 1910. A renovation was performed in 1999. The 1925 City Directory lists Mary Bates; Carl Hiltz, a chauffeur; Gertrude Peck; and Lydia Peck as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows J.J. and J. Mansfield as the owners of this house. In 1930 part of this house was rented for $50 a month by 71-year old Lydia Peck. Lydia lived with her 62-year old sister Gertrude, a seamstress. Another part of this house was rented for $50 a month by Silybelle Bates, a 68-year old assistant in a doctor's office. Silybelle lived with her 58-year sister Mary, a secretary in a public school. Another part of this house was rented for $50 a month by Mary Burke, a 49-year old maid from Ireland. Mary lived with her three children: 30-year old Patrick, a driver for a bakery; 23-year old Margaret, a clerk; and 18-year old Rose, a waitress. |
