The 1925 City Directory lists Harold Welch as a resident of 8 Newcastle. Arthur Hanson, a wool tester; and Joseph Hanson, a foreman, are listed as residents of 10 Newcastle. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows A. and S. Hanson as the owners of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Arthur Dyson, a 65-year old wool grader from England. Arthur lived in 10 Newcastle with his 62-year old English wife Sarah and their two children: 37-year old Joseph, a wool grader; and 33-year old Virginia, a hair dresser. 8 Newcastle was rented for $45 a month by Colman Dyson, a 39-year old auto mechanic from Virginia. Colman lived with his 29-year old wife Thelma and their 6-year old daughter Shirley. The building was valued at $8,000. |
