In 1930 this house was owned by Arthur Dyson, a 65-year old wool grader from England. Arthur lived in 10 Newcastle with his 62-year old English wife Sarah and their two children: 37-year old Joseph, a wool grader; and 33-year old Virginia, a hair dresser. 8 Newcastle was rented for $45 a month by Colman Dyson, a 39-year old auto mechanic from Virginia. Colman lived with his 29-year old wife Thelma and their 6-year old daughter Shirley. The building was valued at $8,000.
