In 1930 this house was owned by Daniel McKay, a 29-year old who worked as a gauger for a cotton gin. Daniel lived in 47 Newcastle with his 25-year old Irish wife Theresa and their two sons: 4-year old Daniel Junior and 1-year old Norman. The building was valued at $12,000.
