16 Mount Vernon Street

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Delia Elberry as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built.

In 1930 this house was owned by Annie Merrill, a 61-year old widow from Ireland. Annie lived with her two children: 27-year old George, a house painter; and 25-year old Frances, a clerk for the New England Telephone Company. Part of this house was rented for $60 a month by William Arsenault, a 33-year old laborer for the City of Boston. William lived with his 24-year old wife Rosie (born in Texas), a waitress. The building was valued at $12,000.
