This brick multi-family house was built in 1910 and rises three stories to an asphalt roof. The 1924 City Directory lists Christian Anderson, a coal company employee, as a resident of 84 Kilsyth. The 1925 City Directory lists Frank Braley, an auto repairer; and Daniel Devine, a salesman, as residents of 82 Kilsyth. Christian Andersen, a coal dealer, is listed as a resident of 84 Kilsyth. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows C. and B. Anderson as the owners of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Bertha Anderson, a 55-year old widow from Pennsylvania who lived in 84 Kilsyth. 82 Kilsyth was rented for $65 a month by Rudolph Newman, a 49-year old real estate manager from Germany. Rudolph lived with his 47-year old sister Elise (born in Germany); 51-year old sister Helen (born in Germany); and 32-year old Michael Link, a roomer from New York who sold hotel supplies. The building was valued at $17,000. |
