188 Faneuil Street

This multi-family house was built in 1930 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. A renovation was performed in 1998.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows the Federal Trust Company as the owner of the empty lot this house was built on.

In 1930 part of this house was rented for $55 a month by Mary Guest, a 78-year old widow from England. Mary lived with her three children: 58-year old Agnes, a buyer for a department store; 49-year old George; and 37-year old Charles, an automobile painter. Another part of this house was rented for $52.50 a month by Francis Riley, a 41-year old policeman for the City of Boston. Francis lived with his 32-year old wife Helen and their two daughters: 5-year old Winifred and 4-year old Frances.
