This brick Colonial house was built in 1900 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof.

The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows John Turley as the owner of this house.

The 1925 City Directory lists James Carroll, a carpenter; and Bernard Turley, a member of Engine 41 of the Boston Fire Department, as residents of 57 Fairbanks.

In 1930 this house was owned by Francis Carroll, a 41-year old telephone lineman. Francis lived with his 35-year old wife Margaret and their 11-year old son Edward. The building was valued at $7,000.
