This three-story multi-family house was built in 1910. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows Robert Jones as the owner of this house. The 1925 City Directory lists John McDevitt, a Postal clerk; James Sherry, a conductor for the Boston Elevated Railway; Annie Vessey, the widow of Ronald Vessey; and Raymond Vessey, a fireman, as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows E.W. Dwyer as the owner of this house. In 1930 part of this house was rented for $45 a month by Annie Bessey, a 60-year old widow from Canada. Annie lived with her two children: 36-year old Raymond, a taxi driver; and 32-year old Mary, a secretary for a soap company. Another part of this house was rented for $45 a month by John McDevitt, a 59-year old Post Office clerk. John lived with his 60-year old wife Mary and 83-year old Mary Edgeworth, a boarder. Another part of this house was rented for $45 a month by Ambrose O'Hearn, a 52-year old special officer for a bank. Ambrose lived with his 50-year old wife Nora and their two children: 12-year old Ambrose and 16-year old Helen, a clerk for an insurance company. |
