This multi-family house was built in 1890 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. A renovation was performed in 2002. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows Mary McHugh as the owner of this house. The 1925 City Directory lists John Heffernan, a clerk; Douglas MacGillivray, a lineman; and Raymond McHugh, a photo engraver, as residents of 22 Fairbanks. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows M. Thomas lived in 22 Fairbanks with his 37-year old Lithuanian wife Mary and their three children: 11-year old Edward, 10-year old John, and 2-year old Irene. 20 Fairbanks was rented for $45 a month by John Amos, a 52-year old grocery store salesman. John lived with his three children: 30-year old Edward, a bus driver; 25-year old George, an assembler in a factory; and 19-year old Marjorie. The building was valued at $10,000. |
