28 Duncklee Street

This brick multi-family house was built in 1930 and rises three stories to an asphalt roof.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows the Federal Trust Company as the owner of the empty lot this house was built on.

In 1930 this house was owned by Neil McGinley, a 39-year old from Northern Ireland who worked as an automotive body builder. Neil lived with his 34-year old wife Mary; 38-year old brother-in-law John Maguire, a 38-year old newspaper artist; and 62-year old mother-in-law Hannah Maguire, a 62-year old widow from Ireland. Part of this house was rented for $50 a month by Howard Boyd, a 39-year old investment salesman from New York. Howard lived with his 34-year old Canadian wife Emma and their four children: 14-year old William, 11-year old Louise, 6-year old Howard Junior, and 2-year old Dorothea. The building was valued at $11,000.
