This 67-unit apartment complex was constructed in 1925 and renovated in 1985.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Bentley Warren et al, trustees, as the owners of the land this building was constructed on.

In 1930, twelve apartments in 1662 Commonwealth were rented to the following tenants:

  • Max Rachkowsky, a 55-year old cotton salesman from Russia. Max lived with his 49-year old English wife Fanny and their two daughters: 23-year old Silva, a clerk in a dry goods store; and 13-year old Selma. The rent was $60 a month.
  • Solomon Hecumlich, a 61-year old leather cutter from Hungary. Solomon lived with his 53-year old wife Celia (also born in Hungary); his 35-year old son Fred, a doctor; 38-year old son-in-law Harry Goldstein, who worked with shoe leather; and his 25-year old daugher Margaret Goldstein. The rent was $80 a month.
  • James Randall, a 37-year old beverage company representative from Mississippi wjo paid $62.50 a month in rent.
  • Charles Hersaw, a 45-year old office supplies salesman. Charles lived with his 45-year old wife Eleanor and paid $62.50 a month in rent.
  • Abraham Methell, a 48-year old shoe company employee from Russia. Abraham lived with his 43-year old Austrian wife Jennie. Vincent Webb, a 43-year old shoe salesman. Vincent lived with his 39-year old wife Harriet and their two daughters: 20-year old Holly, a clerk for a publishing company; and 15-year old Thelma. The rent was $80 a month.
  • Paul Cassidy, a 33-year old stock broker. Paul lived with his 31-year old Canadian wife Sallie and paid $77.50 a month in rent.
  • Harold Huhmey, a 29-year old attorney. Harold lived with his 25-year old wife Ann and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • William Sandquist, a 37-year old clothing salesman from Sweden. William lived with his 39-year old wife Greta and 69-year old Swedish mother-in-law Theresa Edman. The rent was $50 a month.
  • John Lynch, a 42-year old cashier. John lived with his 36-year old wife Ann (born in Connecticut) and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • Robie Cuming, a 54-year old interior decorator from Canada. Robie lived with his 48-year old Canadian wife Anna and their 16-year old daughter Elizabeth.
  • Albert Helstrom, a 39-year old shoe salesman who paid $65 a month in rent.

In 1930, 36 apartments in 1666 Commonwealth were rented to the following tenants:

  • Henry Frazier, a 48-year old building superintendent. Henry lived with his 42-year old wife Maude and their 14-year old daughter Julie.
  • James Fangill, a 50-year old newspaper compositor from Canada. James lived with his 50-year old wife Eva (born in New Hampshire).
  • Murray Depper, a 20-year old welder. Murray lived with his 20-year old wife Charlotte and his 22-year old brother William who worked as a building engineer. The rent was $40 a month.
  • Eleanor Methuelo, a 39-year old from Russia. Eleanor lived with her two children: 20-year old Joseph, a tobacco salesman; and 13-year old Phyllis. The rent was $60 a month.
  • M.G. Savage, a 44-year old electrical components salesman from Virginia. He lived with his 33-year old wife Aitamar (born in Kansas) and paid $80 a month in rent.
  • Michael Firk, a 48-year old taxi driver from Russia. Michael lived with his 35-year old wife Julia (also born in Russia) and paid $62 a month in rent.
  • Frederick Arsin, a Norwegian who worked in the fur trade. Frederick lived with two lodgers: 32-year old Margaret Manay, a clothing saleslady; and 34-year old Evelyn Dupont (born in Canada). The rent was $85 a month.
  • Hyram Keltz, a 25-year old lawyer. Hyram lived with his 21-year old wife Molly and paid $62.50 a month in rent.
  • C.H. Ganteume, 35-year old radio company representative from Louisiana. He lived with his 27-year old wife Bertha (born in Pennsylvania) and their 3-year old son Bruce. The rent was $65 a month.
  • Rachel Sullivan, a 60-year old Post Office clerk. Rachel lived with Anne Brennan, a 52-year old lodger from Vermont who worked as a clothing inspector. The rent was $75 a month.
  • Ruben Henman, a 34-year old jeweler who paid $60 a month in rent.
  • Amelia Bamber, a 65-year old widowed housekeeper who paid $65 a month in rent.
  • William Tewksbury, a 27-year old auto mechanic. William lived with his 26-year old wife Helen and paid $62.50 a month in rent.
  • Benjamin Purger, a 67-year old real estate agent. Benjamin lived with his 50-year old widowed sister Ida Mitchell and his 16-year old son Max. The rent was $80 a month.
  • Stanley Graves, a 39-year old floor covering salesman from Kentucky. Stanley lived with his 38-year old wife Ella and paid $80 a month in rent.
  • Edward Lutsky, a 31-year old salesman. Edward lived with his 25-year old wife Frances and paid $60 a month in rent.
  • Louis Brandhurst, a 30-year old fountain supply salesman from Pennsylvania. Louis lived with his 26-year old wife Almay (born in New York) and paid $60 a month in rent.
  • Howard Danforth, a 32-year old manager for an auto company. Howard lived with his 30-year old wife Helen and their 1-year old daughter Arlene. The rent was $65 a month.
  • Benjamin Meyers, a 47-year old clothing salesman. Benjamin lived with his 45-year old wife Sadie (born in New York) and paid $75 a month in rent.
  • William Shaughnessy, a 45-year old car salesman from New York. William lived with his 40-year old wife Sophie (also from New York) and paid $50 a month in rent.
  • Russell Cook, a 32-year old music teacher from Maine. Russell lived with his 42-year old wife Clara (born in Wisconsin) and paid $80 a month in rent.
  • Mark Berhall, a 33-year old agent for musical acts. Mark lived with his 28-year old wife Alice and paid $50 a month in rent.
  • Joseph Shabow, a 31-year old writer from Lithuania. Joseph lived with his 24-year old wife Beatrice (born in Washington) and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • Albert Hurd, a 39-year old hotel supplies salesman from Maine. Albert lived with his 34-year old wife Doris (born in Washington) and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • Joseph Price, a 48-year old New Jersey-born representative for a water meter company. Joseph lived with his 28-year old Canadian wife Helen and paid $80 a month in rent.
  • Hedwig John, a 37-year old dressmaker from Germany who paid $50 a month in rent.
  • Eugene Dugver, a 31-year old car salesman from Alabama. Eugene lived with his 23-year old wife Anna, a secretary from North Carolina, and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • Walter Phillipps, a 29-year old car salesman from New Jersey. Walter lived with his 23-year old wife Margaret, a secretary from Maryland.
  • Abraham Goldmanm, a 24-year old grocer. Abraham lived with his 25-year old wife Charlotte and paid $62.50 a month in rent.
  • Thomas McInerney, a 46-year old electrical engineer from Maine who paid $50 a month in rent.
  • Elizabeth Gallagher, a 39-year old who lived with J.A. Saleans, a 34-year old real estate broker from Italy. The rent was $80 a month.
  • Imderial Luke, a 30-year old who lived with her 8-year old son Paul and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • George Swartz, a 25-year old collection agent. George lived with his 25-year old wife Beatrice and paid $60 a month in rent.
  • Robert Seligman, a newspaper advertizer. Robert lived with his 23-year old wife Lillian and paid $65 a month in rent.
  • Richard Muney, a 69-year old foreman for a telephone company. Richard lived with Florence McGregor, a 30-year old roomer who worked as a housekeeper. The rent was $77.50 a month.
  • James Knowles, a 37-year old doctor from Ohio who paid $66 a month in rent.
