31 Claymoss Road is a two-family house that was designed by John Kelly and built in 1924 by William Ryan for Mary Mead and Esther McCarthy. This 2.5 story wood house rises 32 feet from a stone foundation to a hipped asphalt shingle roof. The cost of construction was $14,000.

The 1925 City Directory lists Katherine Lawless, the widow of James Lawless; William McCarthy, a salesman; and Mary Mead, the widow of James Mead, as residents of this house.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Mary Mead, et al, as the owners of this house.

In 1927 a two-car concrete block garage was built.

In 1930 this house was owned by William McCarthy, a 39-year old salesman. William lived with his 37-year old wife Esther and their three daughters: 14-year old Alice, 9-year old Helen, and 7-year old Elizabeth. William's 47-year old widowed sister-in-law Mary Meade also lived here. The building was valued at $15,000.

By 1990 this house was owned by Kim Tong Chung.

In 1990 the house was covered with vinyl siding.

By 1993 this house was owned by Ray Montoya.

By 2004 this house was owned by Chun Ching.

In 2004 the house was re-roofed with asphalt shingles.

By 2006 this house was owned by Amy Chung.
