The 1924 City Directory lists John Quinn, an inspector, as a resident of this house. The 1925 City Directory lists John Quinn, an inspector, as a resident of 124 Brooks; and Charles Walker as a resident of 126 Brooks. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows M.V. Armstrong as the owner of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Mary Armstrong, a 54-year old widow. Mary lived in 126 Brooks with her four daughters: 19-year old Anne, 17-year old Mary, 15-year old Mildred, and 14-year old Virginia. 124 Brooks was rented for $42 a month by William Quinn, a 54-year old shipper in a plant nursery. William lived with his 52-year old wife Roseand their six children: 29-year old John, a booking agent; 27-year old George, a truck driver; 25-year old William, a stock man for a rubber company; 23-year old Anne, a clerk for an insurance company; 20-year old Mary, a clerk for an insurance company; and 18-year old Rose. The building was valued at $12,000. |
