This three-story multi-family house was built in 1930 and renovated in 1982. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows John Berry as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows H.E. Gildersleeve as the owner of the empty lot this house was built on. In 1930 part of this house was rented for $50 a month by George Burke, a 25-year old district manager for an advertising company. George lived with his 26-year old wife Florence; 1-year old daughter Jeanne; and 64-year old English father John Burke, a shoe cutter in a shoe factory. Another part of this house was rented for $50 a month by Samuel DeMarco, a 28-year old barber from Italy. Samuel lived with his 28-year old Italian wife Lillian and their two daughters: 6-year old Marie and 1-year old Mildred. |
