This brick Cape Cod house was built in 1917 and rises two stories to a slate roof. The 1916 Bromley Atlas shows John Berry as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Alma Gildersleeve as the owner of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Francis Dowling, a 42-year old postal clerk. Francis lived with his 33-year old wife Alice and their three children: 6-year old Alice, 5-year old William, and 3-year old Elizabeth. The building was valued at $6,500. |
