This 10-unit apartment building was designed by Blackall and Elwell and built in 1927. It replaced an 1870 house built for W.F. Matchett and an 1872 house designed by Theodore Briggs.

The 1938 Bromley Atlas shows 282 Beacon Street Incorporated as the owner of this building.
