Samuel D. Kelley

Samuel D. Kelley was born in 1848 to Quaker parents in Rhode Island. He was educated at the Friends' School in Providence, RI and spent several years training in various architectural offices in New England. He established his own practice in Boston, specializing in hotel and church design. He was also a prolific designer of residences in the Back Bay.

After retiring Kelley lived in Yarmouth, MA until his death on May 8, 1938 at the age of 90.
