This two-story multi-family house was built in 1920.

The 1925 City Directory lists Margaret Kelly, a janitress at the Thomas Gardner School, as a resident of 9 Weitz. Eugene McCarthy, a sawfiler, is listed as a resident of 11 Weitz.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows E. McCarthy as the owner of this house.

In 1930 this house was owned by Eugene McCarty, a 60-year old from Ireland who worked as a "saw filler" in an arsenal. He lived at 9 Weitz with his 61-year old wife Ellen, also from Ireland, and his 27-year old daughter Mary and her 26-year old husband James Rogers. Mary worked as a seamstress at a local laundry, and James was a day laborer. The house was valued at $7,500. 11 Weitz was rented for $40 a month by Michael Gray, a 57-year old from Ireland who was an engineer for the Boston and Albany Railroad. Michael lived here with his 54-year old wife Margret (also from Ireland) and their six children: 23-year old Mary, who worked as a stenographer; 21-year old John; 19-year old Margret; 18-year old Anna; 16-year old Josephine; and 11-year old Thomas.
