This Colonial house was built in 1900 and rises two stories to a slate roof. A renovation was performed in 2004. The 1925 City Directory lists Francis Riley, an electrician; John Riley; John Riley Jr, an electrician; Kathryn Riley, a teacher at the Theodore Lyman School in East Boston; and Mary Riley, a teacher, as residents of this house. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows M.E. Riley as the owner of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by John Riley, a 64-year old plumber who worked for the city. John lived with his six daughters: 33-year old Helen, a nurse; 32-year old Mary, a public school teacher; 30-year old Katherine, a public school teacher; 23-year old Constance, a stenographer; 20-year old Ann, a stenographer for an architectural firm; and 17-year old Agnes. The building was valued at $10,000. | ||
