This house was built in 1885 and rises three stories to an asphalt roof. A renovation was performed in 1982.

The 1925 City Directory lists Helen J. Jones, the widow of John Jones; and Helen R. Jones, a teacher at the Francis Parkman School in Jamaica Plain, as residents of 45 Pratt.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows H.J. Jones as the owner of this house.
