This three-story brick multi-family house was built in 1920. A renovation was performed in 1980.

The 1925 City Directory lists Robert Popell, a grocer, as a resident of 5 Pomeroy. Arthur Sherman, an elevatorman; and Ernest Sherman, a conductor, are listed as residents of 7 Pomeroy. George Stronach, a teamster; and Howard Stronach, a teamster, are listed as residents of 9 Pomeroy.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows R. and A. Popel as the owners of this house.
