This multi-family house was built in 1889 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof.

The 1925 City Directory lists William Connell, a bookbinder for the Boston Public Library; and Bernard Kearney, a conductor for the Boston Elevated Railroad, as residents of this house.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows Catherine Connell as the owner of this house.

In 1930 this house was owned by William Connell, a 65-year old bookbinder for a publishing company. William lived with his 65-year old wife Anna and his 25-year old son William Jr., who worked as a tallyman in a lumber yard. Andrew Byrne, a 38-year old state police office, rented part of this house for $40 a month. Andrew lived with his 32-year old wife Esther, his 11-year old stepdaughter Bernice Strahl (born in Connecticut), and his 2-year old daughter Betty. The house was valued at $4,200.
