This multi-family house was built in 1901 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof. The 1925 City Directory lists Isaac Bronkhorst, an insurance agent, as a resident of 37 Bayard; and Albert Peterson, a carpenter, as a resident of 39 Bayard. The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows J.T. Petersen, et al, as the owners of this house. In 1930 this house was owned by Abter Peterson, a 57-year old carpenter from Denmark who lived in 39 Bayard. Abter lived with his 52-year old wife Julia (born in Ireland) and his two sons: Leo, a 25-year old accountant; and 21-year old Norman, a plumber's helper. The building was valued at $4,900. 37 Bayard was rented for $30 a month by Isack Bronkhorst, a 53-year old insurance agent. Isack lived with his 52-year old wife Julia (born in New York), his 18-year old son Aaron who worked as a truck driver for a plumbing company, and his 49-year old sister-in-law Elizabeth Franzman (born in New York). | ||
