This multi-family house was built in 1929 and rises two stories to an asphalt roof.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows A Barnett as the owner of the empty lot where this house was built.

In 1930, Joseph McKenney rented 22 Bayard for $55 a month. Joseph, a 25-year old coal salesman, lived with his 23-year old wife Alice (born in Connecticut). 24 Bayard was rented for $50 a month by 32-year old Francis White, a brakeman for a railroad. Francis lived with his 24-year old Canadian wife Abbie, who worked as a hairdresser; his 21-year old brother Stephen who worked as a machinist in a foundry; and his 62-year old mother Ellen.
