This multi-family brick house was built in 1890 and rises two stories to an asphalt shingle roof.

The 1925 City Directory lists Thomas McCourt, a rubber worker; and Charles McLaughlin as residents of 2 Appian.

The 1925 Bromley Atlas shows C. McLaughlin as the owner of this house.

In 1930 this house was owned by Sarah McDermott, a 42-year old widow from Northern Ireland who worked as a "fancy ironer" for a laundry. Sarah lived with her 15-year old daughter Josephine, her 13-year old daughter Mary, her 11-year old son Clement, and her 6-year old daughter Catherine. The building was valued at $2,000.
